The birds, flowers, and foliage are woven into the fabric structure through the jacquard process, which means the color variation and feather gradation within each figure comes from thread color rather than dye or surface treatment. Jacquard weaving allows individual control of each thread group, so the tonal depth in the bird plumage and the petal layering in the flowers are structural qualities of the fabric rather than applied effects. A composition of this density and color range requires a significantly higher thread count per repeat than geometric woven fabrics, and the result is visible in the fine surface detail across the full face. Condition and Care
