Tapestry Art is a collection of original wall pieces designed and produced in Istanbul. Each piece is built from vintage ikat, suzani, and kilim fabric fragments that are cut, shaped, and assembled into a new form. The source materials carry their own history, dye palette, and surface texture. The final object carries a design that exists nowhere else.The production process is not weaving. It is closer to sculpture with textile. A fragment of Central Asian ikat silk might be shaped into a guitar body, a bull silhouette, or a whirling dervish figure, then mounted and finished for wall display. The structural integrity of the piece comes from how the fabrics are assembled and backed, not from a single continuous weave. This means each piece has a layered, tactile surface that changes character depending on the light hitting it.Every piece in this collection is one of a kind. When a source fabric runs out, that specific combination of color and texture cannot be reproduced. The designs are original to Istanbul Carpet and are not available elsewhere.
